Council of Friends of Harrison Hills Park
The Council of Friends for all 9 Allegheny Parks was created and approved by Allegheny County Council, on October 22, 2002. In 2021 Allegheny County Council replaced the ordinance that created 'COUNCIL OF FRIENDS' groups in each of the nine county parks, with a new ordinance creating 'FRIENDS OF THE PARK' groups. It was largely a procedural change but members had to be re-appointed by the county council. The current 'FRIENDS OF HARRISON HILLS PARK' is made up of the following members:

Patrick Kopnicky - Designer of The Environmental Center, The Outdoor Classroom, Wildlife Blind and Boardwalk at large pond.
Mardelle Kopnicky - Initiated the building of Watts Memorial Overlook viewing platform with Allegheny Valley Chamber of Commerce, program and activity organizer, solicitor of mounted wildlife and wall display cases.
Cynthia Maleski - legal council
Tom Nehrer - helped map 7 hiking trails totaling 14 miles
Sue Vertosick - organizer of fundraising events
